Frequently asked questions

Can I embed a Post that contains a photo, video, or other media?

Yes! An embedded Post can display photos and videos uploaded to X as well as content described by a link.

What if the Post I want to embed is part of a conversation (a reply)?

When the embedded Post is a reply, the parent Post will be displayed above the reply. A permalink will be available on both Posts to the reply, and a link to the replier’s profile will be available on the reply.

Check the Hide Conversation checkbox when setting customization options on publish.x.com to hide the parent Post.

Can I embed a Post from someone who chooses to protect their Posts?

Embed code is not available for Posts from people who choose to protect their Posts.

What if someone deletes a Post, changes their Posts from public to protected, or the account becomes suspended after the Post has been embedded on another website?

Text content of the Post will still be visible, but media will not be loaded by X's JavaScript.
