How To Change Your Email Preferences

  • Email notifications help you stay up to date with your Twitter account so you can find out what's happening and what's relevant to you even when you are not actively checking Twitter
  • You can opt out of receiving these notifications at any time

How do I change my email preferences?

You can change your email preferences in the notifications section of your settings page. You can set your email preferences to to let you know when:

  • You have a new direct message
  • You are sent a reply to one of your Tweets or are mentioned in a Tweet
  • You are followed by someone new
  • Someone retweets or favorites one of your Tweets
  • We send out a newsletter or update on Twitter
  • We send specific updates related to your account such as reminders or suggestions

We strive to send emails when they are most applicable to you. For example, if someone you follow retweets your Tweet or someone you mention replies to your Tweet we may send you an email. You will not necessarily receive an email for every retweet, reply, or favorite; for now we will only send you emails when they may be relevant to your activity on Twitter. Note that every email contains a link to unsubscribe from that particular type of notification.
