How To Add Your Mobile Number via Web

Connect Your Mobile Number to your Twitter Account via Web!

You may already know that you can connect your mobile phone number to your Twitter account via SMS (text message), but we think web activation is the easiest way to make your Twitter account mobile. You can add your phone to receive SMS updates, Tweet from your phone, and for assistance accessing your account on the Web if you ever lose your password. To add your mobile number to your Twitter profile from the web, follow the steps below.

  1. Log in and click on the person icon, select Settings from the drop-down menu. (Fig. 1, below)
  2. Click on the Mobile tab in your Settings. (Fig. 2, below)
  3. Choose your country from the first drop-down menu.
  4. Enter your mobile number - without a country code or leading zero (we handle these automatically).
  5. If prompted, choose your carrier from the drop-down menu (non-US users only**). If you don't see your carrier listed, read this article.
  6. Click Start to begin verifying your phone.
  7. You will be directed to send a verification code via text message to Twitter (using the appropriate country-specific short code) containing the word "GO" (shown below).
  8. Text GO from your phone!
  9. After we receive the verification code from you, we will add your device and you'll be ready to use Twitter on your phone.

Please note: Additional steps which may apply to users outside of the US are shown below.
